This charming oil on canvas in original Victorian fluted cove frame has lost the artist signature, but his first name was Louis and B was the first letter of his last name. {Probably signed over the varnish and removed in cleaning.} But he knew how to paint an appetizing,
rich, and colorful still life! Does anyone have a clue?

Japanese Woodblock Print

A well framed 4 color woodblock on rice paper of a ferocious Samurai warrior with weapon
in hand! I see this as possibly a poster for the Kabuki Theatre or some sort of advertising. But it makes a design statement, and it’s fun. And cheap!

Autumn

“Autumn” signed Robert Vonnoh. An oil on artist board, one of a series of small wonderfully prismatic plein air paintings by the artist. Perhaps these were studies for larger works , or perhaps they represent his exploration into impressionism, which he called “the new movement in painting”. It is 10 1/2″ x 13″,site size and in a Motyka “Hassam” frame.

A prolific painter of many subjects, Hungarian artist, Pal Fried was most famous for his paintings of beautiful women. A popular society portraitist, he eventually migrated to Hollywood, and painted a number of famous movie stars in the 50’s and 60’s, Marilyn Monroe, the Gabor sisters among them. Oil on canvas by Oliver Tarbell Eddy acquired directly from descendants of the artist. Primarily an itinerant portrait artist, Eddy painted this landscape while in Philadelphia working. It represents his memories of a childhood in Greenbush. The sheep are the famous Merino sheep raised in that area. A magnificent painting in handsome original frame. Site size is 36″ x 50″. unsigned.
