French Canadian Vaisselier
‘This fabulous pumpkin-washed cupboard was found in Quebec. Featuring a fanciful stylized angel “Cookie cutter” frieze over a carved fence valance, it has 2 drawers over 2 cupboard doors with recessed and double moulded panels and shoe foot base . Reflecting the varying influences of the multicultured immigrant population of 18th c. Canada, it is easy to see the ” French ” feel at the top, the ” Scotch- Irish” feel to the base, and perhaps some Scandinavian sense as well. 18th c. 71″w. 83-84″h.
Origins: American, 18th c.$12,000.00.00ID: 7374
