Pine bonnet chest

Pine bonnet chest

A truly great old “bonnet” chest found in Canada. Constructed of great wide pine boards, early pencil point dovetail, probably  c. 1800. Consists of 2 bonnet drawers and 2 glove drawers over 3 graduated drawers with a lovely scalloped skirt which has been slightly chewed- by a bear?
The hardware has been replaced by American eagle and shield. Probably had plain wooden knobs.
