Country Hepplewhite side table

Country Hepplewhite  table. This is a simple country work table, found in Louisa County, Va. Made on the farm of  yellow heart pine and pegged construction, with one board top, and long, tapered legs to copy an Hepplewhite city cousin. Made to serve, and used hard, it’s been “kept up”. The one board shrunk, and was reglued. The blocks had to be replaced. A red  wash was either revived, or reinvented. An old workhorse with a regal ambiance , and quiet country charm.
