French style server
This is not an antique. Not by my standards. And I don’t know who made it! Is it lovely by my standards? Decidedly. And it has a beautiful finish on deep dark mahogany. I judge it to be early 20thc.Perhaps late 19th.. The style is Louis XV, the leg a long graceful cabriole with scroll foot and a simple elegant carving to the knee, the skirt is handsomely shaped with fine moulding and simple cartouche to the front and back.At it’s widest parts, it measures 28″deep and 59″long x30″h. Perfect condition, ready for the hall, behind the sofa, or as server in the dining area, it’s an” anywhere” piece, elegant and practical. Finished on all sides, it can stand in the center of the room.
