New England Hepplewhite style stand
Country farm- made stand from New Hampshire in original old red varnish stain except for the top which though original, has been scrubbed . While he had a little trouble with the drawer front, this maker was immensely successful in the creation of beautifully tapered, slightly splayed Hepplewhite legs. Peg construction. Line inlay to legs and apron. What may appear to be ending out of lower leg is not. Rather, it is a failed attempt to create an inlaid cuff. Pine throughout. c.1820
